As a painter, I regard the abstract image in painting to be the essential form of life's mystery. A newborn child opens its eyes for the first time with wonder upon the world - so do abstract images engage the viewer with that same mystery. The painting surface becomes the field of action to carry messages beyond the created illusion.
The wall, as a concept and as a material form, is essential to the nature of humanity - from cave to temple - a celebration of the creative spirit which forms it.
